 Introduction: Vriksha Asan

    Hey Guys today i will tell you the way to improve your legs strength via this simple asana called vriksha asana . 

    Vriksha asana is a very elegant asana which anyone can do except for some.
    So yeah lets shoot it up , i mean the salutation of ours in form of namaskar towards the sky. and let us begin the correct way of doing this vriksha asana.

    Before doing vriksha asana one can do stretches such as these

    1. simple leg stretch by wigling in the air.

    2. trikonaasan

    3. simple hands stretches. like keep them parallel to each other and move up and down.


    So, yeah after the stretch let us start with the meaning of vriksha asana

    Meaning of vriksha asana


    Vriksha asana also called as the Vitap asan.

    Vriksha or Vitap both means Tree and the asan as you all know which means the pose.

    All in common its also called as the standing still like tree asan.


    So lets move on quickly the steps to do vriksha asana


    Way to do it : Vriksha Asan

    1. One has to be in the normal standing pose which is also called as the tadaasan.

    2. Then, first lift your leg towards the thigh, yeah simply bend the knees in a sideway position towards the thigh part and bring up as high as you can .

    3. At the same time make sure that the other leg is straight .

    4, Definitely you got to balance with one leg.


    Note: No woder this asana is also called as the tapaswi asana or the penance posture.


    5. Now lift both of the hands while keeping in the namaskar position above the head .

    6. While doing the lifting of the hands do breathe in.

    7. After, this stay balanced in one leg and then do normal breathing  casually upto 10 to 15 breaths

    8. Then bring both the hands down and at same time breathe out. and release the knees . 

    9. Relax 5- 10 seconds and do same with the opposite leg.


    Pro tip: While doing vriksha asana one can keep their aeyes open while balancing if you have practiced  a lot then try doing while closing the eyes for improving mind concentration


    Benefits of vriksha asana

    1. vriksha asana helps one to acheive mind and body cncentration.

    2. Also helps in opening the hip region

    3. vriksha asana strengthens the knees, legs, stretches the arms areas.

    4. Increases the capacity of the legs to withstand the body weight.


    Precautions before doing Vriksha asana  

    1. If someone has migraine, insomnia, do not practice this asana

    2. If one has got high, low Bp avoid vriksha asana.

    3. Also if someone is suffering from the Knee injury do not try vriksha asana

     Note: One of the encounters that a beginer  will get is that while doing vriksha asana he may not be able to get the legs above the knee portion but its ok, with daily practice one can acheive it.

    Yeah its not a myth , vriksha asana can increase the height if practiced along with other asanas which i will elaborate in the next upcomming article
